Ok, I have a physics problem I don't understand. A car is going at 15
meters/second, and it is accelerating at 4.5 m/s every second. It
travels a distance of 45 m. How long did this take? I am not sure of
what the equation is that provides me with the answer.

What level are you at? Are you supposed to derive some equations,
using calculus?

Or have you been given some "equations of motion" to apply? If the
latter, you should have a couple of equations
- for the position (distance) as a function of time, at constant
velocity,
- and then for position as a function of time at constant
acceleration.
The latter equation will work here. You have the distance, want to
solve for the time.
